COMBUSTION CHAMBER
The portion of the engine's cylinder where the air/fuel mixture is ignited and converted into mechanical energy. The optimized shape of the clamshell combustion chamber design often used in Lincoln engines promotes complete burning (for low emissions) and high efficiency (for good fuel economy).
CYLINDER
The chamber inside the engine, containing the piston. The valves control the fuel-air mixture, which is then compressed and ignited by the piston. The force of this ignition moves the piston, creating the engine power.
DOHC
Dual or Double Overhead Cam. A state-of-the-art engine design in which two camshafts are fitted atop the cylinder head. One camshaft operates the intake valves, the other operates the exhaust valves. Such engines permit optimizing the angle at which the valves enter the combustion chamber and the shape of the combustion chamber itself. This results in improved performance and fuel efficiency, offering the potential for greater power output and higher engine speeds. No pushrods translates into lower valvetrain weight, which in turn translates into higher RPM.
EMI
(EMI) Equated Monthly Installments are installment towards repayment of a loan, lease or hire purchase agreement.
As banks and finance companies conduct very high volumes of retail business it becomes easier for them to monitor and manage installments that are constant in amount.
The EMI's are collected in advance as post dated cheques.
Escalation Clause
A clause in lease agreements which provides that the rentals shall increase on certain eventuality, e.g., on increase in interest rate or on non-availibility of certain tax benifits.
